ISES Toronto Wraps up in Red Velvet
ISES Toronto hosted a holiday season celebration for our members and event industry guests wrapping up the end of the year in a black and red velvet theme. This year's annual Red Velvet Holiday gala was held at the historic and prestigious Eglinton Grand.

Taking cue from the original grandeur of this majestic facility the gala held true to a glamorous and festive theme throughout. With the sophisticated elegance of the venue each guest felt like a star as they stepped on the red carpet. Candy cane girls greeting guests with chocolate treats and butlers provided candy cane martinis to set the mood for the festive night.

Sultry red velvet draped the reception area featuring stunning red floral urns and the upper floor was accented by a candy cane ice bar to create an intimate setting among the
clean architectural lines. A memorable keepsake was an opulent digital photo taken of guests in a fun setting featuring a gold chaise lounge and feather boas.

As guests made their way into the ballroom, black and red velvet tables were adorned with tall fabulous red rose bouquets and bright red stockings filled with sponsor gifts ornamented each place setting, accented with black napkins tied with red velvet bows.
Black velvet chair wraps created an elegant and chic setting reminiscent of the art deco era. Centrepieces were an incredible red rose arrangement atop a crystal pedestal.

Star Productions CEO, Alan Smithson, emceed the evening which was kicked off with the Juno award winning Bob De Angelis band.
Guests had many entertainment options to mingle through. Elaine Chalal analyzed their hand-writing, while some guests got accessorized for a fun souvenir photo.
All guests made their way to the silent auction which helped raise funds for the Toronto Chapter. The hit of the night was the Candy-Gram table, where for $5.00, guests purchased a candy gram to write for anyone else attending the event. The DJ made frequent announcements for people to pick up their messages and some guests were left mystified and on the lookout if they received an anonymous message! Proceeds from this table, along with teddy bear souvenir sales supported the Daily Bread Food Bank.
The Chapter honoured 4 ISES members with the chapter Star Awards.
Lara McCulloch, President, Ready2spark.com was honoured with the Dedication award for her contribution to the Chapter, last year as Chapter President.
Supplier of the Year was awarded to Cuthbertson Entertainment.
Member of the Year was awarded to James Nienhuis.
Carolyn Luscombe, CSEP, CSEM, CMP of Eclectic Events headed the ISES Gala organizing committee and with her launch of the upcoming event industry Kid's Christmas Party, she truly showed her dedication to the growth of Toronto area event industry. For her wonderful contributions, we gladly awarded the prestigious ISES Leadership Award to Carolyn.
After a magnificent 3 course dinner catered by the Eglinton Grand, guests
were enthralled by tenor tones Michael Ciufo as a grand finale to the evening.Thank you to our Gala Committee:

A Latin Passion for Life, with Vivid hues, bubbling music & insatiable appetite for revelry.
Stardust Events wanted to create a spectacular swirl of colour and Salsa rhythm by pulling together all of the pleasures of the senses. We wanted to warm up our guests and get their pulses going. From the entrance to the table, we aimed to transport the guest to another world.
The client wanted the latin theme to represent the culture not a specific region. In doing so our objectives were to enhance the venue, work within budget and create a wow factor that appealed to the five senses.
The colour palette was bright ~ yellows, lime green, fuchsia, red and orange and this was carried out from the ceiling to the tables.
