Dear ISES
Toronto Members:
It is
with great pleasure and pride that I
step into the role of President of the
Toronto Chapter. I am delighted to
welcome our new Board that will serve
you for this term. I would also like to
recognize the outgoing President, Kyle
Hosick and fellow Board Members for all
their dedication, commitment and
involvement in the previous year.
Over the
past fifteen year's I have had the
opportunity to work with mentors,
advocates, and professionals in the
special event industry. Our previous
leaders of ISES and Board members have
elevated the practice of event
management. It is our intention to
continue this with our focus on the
future.
Our goal
is to serve all the professions within
the industry with involvement locally,
nationally and internationally with our
affiliate chapters. Toronto has a very
strong position in the global market and
we welcome the opportunity to serve
guests into the city as well as abroad.
Locally our members are producing events
with the caliber of our fellow partners
in New York and LA. We are proud
Canadians.
We are
delighted that Canada has formed its own
affiliate as ISES
Canada. For the first
time memberships are offered in Canadian
dollars, and the association is managed
in Canada by our very own Executive
Director Carol Ford. We are currently
developing new benefits and programs to
be offered to our membership. We
encourage you as our members to get
involved and spread the news.
Earlier
this year I had the opportunity to share
some of my industry knowledge at The
Special Event in Miami. A quote from
author Thomas Connellan, Ph.D is -
"What you give out, is what you get
back." I have had many moments with
ISES members from educating, sharing,
laughing, experiencing, working with
competitors, volunteering, hiring,
judging, training, networking - and yes,
business from fellow members. I'm
delighted that what was given out was
given back.
Professionalism
with Attitude will be our mandate for
the upcoming year. We welcome all our
members to participate, support and come
out to the chapter events.
Enjoy the
summer, and we'll see you in September.
Warm
regards,
Carol Moxam, CSEP
